Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Global Mobility Specialist provides high touch, customer service-focused support and guidance to candidates, employees, and managers regarding immigration, including visa transfers, extensions, and the green card process. Ensures accurate tracking and timely processing. Includes working with appropriate partners, such as legal, managers, HR, workers compensation, third party vendors, etc. Will interact regularly with foreign national population within DISH and their managers, including answering questions and resolving complex issues. The role applies advanced knowledge to manage projects/processes while working independently with limited supervision. Problems faced are difficult and may be complex.

Essential Job Functions

  • Builds strong relationships with and serves as main point of contact for foreign nationals and their managers
  • Oversees all immigration processes to ensure actions are happening on schedule; actively monitors individual cases, providing timely updates to stakeholders
  • Effectively communicates with candidates, employees, and appropriate partners such as business managers, legal, and HR throughout the immigration process
  • Working knowledge of US immigration law and visa types including, but not limited to, H-1B, F-1, L, TN and O-1
  • Reviewing immigration information requests in the shared mailbox and triaging responses
  • Investigates and advises on complex immigration problems; escalates to legal when necessary
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and resource to business managers and foreign nationals
  • Communicates decisions and on-going expectations with candidates and employees
  • Facilitates interactive discussions and assists with implementing creative and compliant solutions to immigration-related issues including wage differences and requests for evidence (RFEs)
  • Manages strong communication between foreign nationals and immigration team including, but not limited to, new hire messaging, policy change communications, and the immigration website
  • Proactively identifies areas of opportunity including process improvement and training needs; appropriately involves stakeholders, as needed
  • Supports and leads immigration related projects or initiatives
  • Proactively identifies areas of concern and high risk with individual cases and involves legal when appropriate
  • Leads calls between managers and/or employees and legal, and has an in depth knowledge of company policy and legal constraints
  • Interpret, understand, and execute on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form

Skills, Experience And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher strongly preferred
  • 4+ years experience with HR, Recruitment, or Customer Service focused role
  • Knowledge of Immigration related matters a plus
  • Read and interpret documents such as operating/maintenance/procedure instructions and safety rules.
  • Operate efficiently between multiple computer applications and proficient with Windows 7 or higher.
  • Proficiency with the Google Suite, including but not limited to, Google Sheets and Google Docs.
  • Effectively interact with all levels of organizational staff and company personnel.
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written/oral communication, and customer service skills.

Salary Range

Compensation: $55,000.00/Year – $75,000.00/Year
