Position:SEO Content Writer


New American Funding is actively seeking a SEO content writer to assist with department and company growth initiatives. This team member will play a key role in creating, editing and optimizing SEO content for a portfolio of mortgage websites. The content needs to be tailored to the mortgage industry, trends while consciously targeting specific demographics or audiences. The goal of the SEO content writer is to establish and prove organic growth with the purpose of driving revenue. Experience with writing unique SEO content, digital publishing with the intent to generate qualified traffic. The candidate will regularly optimize current onsite content, offsite content and meta data our portfolio to help achieve department and company goals.


  • Write 8 – 10 pieces of optimized keyword-rich SEO content based on weekly mortgage trends, and valuable industry updates. The content should be tailored to search engines and have high value to our target audience.
  • Post optimized articles and/or optimized content following industry standards to our CMS platform, social channels and more.
  • Review, enhance, and edit SEO content written by team members (elevate the overall quality and accuracy across content formats);
  • Conduct backlinking analysis and creation, keyword research, rank analysis, and content marketing strategy analysis according to best SEO practices and share recommendations with the team
  • Optimize current copy, landing pages and metadata for maximum organic exposure and conversions while maintaining engaging targeted content;
  • Collaborate and innovate with all teams (editorial, video, and social) to create engaging and meaningful multimedia content (articles, podcasts, videos, infographics, live streams, etc) which align with our organic growth strategy
  • Research trending topics within the pop culture industry
  • Provide additional recommendations to increase organic visibility and branding through SEO efforts


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or similar field;
  • 3 or more years’ of experience writing for online publications
  • Excellent creative writing, critical analysis, and editing skills;
  • Basic knowledge of HTML;
  • A working knowledge of SEO (onsite and offsite) and how it applies to content marketing;
  • Knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), best practices and how they can be deployed in different scenarios;
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, & respond to changes quickly.
