Tempus collaborates with many of the top research institutions that are advancing cancer care through cutting-edge research projects. The Partner Operations Lead oversees sequencing projects for Tempus’ Research Institution clients and strategic partnerships. This position manages the day-to-day client relationships and internal coordination amongst the Tempus team. The position supports relationships with Tempus’ Laboratory, Bioinformatics, Product, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead for sequencing projects across multiple customers, including:
    • Go-to contact at Tempus for clients
    • Manages the planning and execution of all projects from beginning to end, including project plans, kick-off meetings, weekly meetings with customers, steering committee meetings, and close-out meetings
    • Lead client meetings, ensure decisions and action items are clearly documented and tracked to completion
    • Drive escalation and resolution of critical project related issues
    • Report out metrics to clients on a bi-weekly basis
  • Coordinate, in partnership with the internal sequencing operations leads, to ensure samples are moving appropriately through the lab and flagging samples at risk as appropriate
  • Monitor project health through the effective use of project dashboards and management tools
  • Contribute to managing and mentoring Associates who support the Lead on their projects
  • Find and discuss new business opportunities with existing customers
  • Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency and lend personal expertise to internal teams to enhance product offerings across Tempus teams

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3+ years of consulting, project management, or client-facing experience in a healthcare or healthcare technology environment
  • Highly organized and systematic, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks across projects, clients, and internal Tempus teams
  • Experience collaborating and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong presentation skills and significant experience presenting to external parties
  • Proven experience cultivating and maintaining relationships internally and externally
  • Comfort with ambiguity and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of producing high-quality work both independently and in team settings
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing rapidly changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has experience in oncology, genomics or management consulting
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Public Health or Science
  • Advanced skills in Google suite, Slack, Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Salesforce.com and Tableau experience is a plus
