The Material Analyst Position

Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Material Planner to manage inventories and ensure material availability per service schedules. The Material Planner’s responsibilities include determining material quantities required to keep on hand, creating and maintaining inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments for material orders, and managing internal material transfers to ensure availability of on- hand material.

A successful Material Planner should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of materials required to maintain steady service activities and work order completion service levels

Material Analyst Responsibilities

  • Analyzes usage patterns and order demands to determine required materials for each remote-mobile location in the Maintenance Service department
  • F orecasts material requirements for maintenance service
  • Generates purchase order requests
  • Ensures consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for each remote- mobile location in the Maintenance Service department
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding service goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
  • Tracks service volumes, monitors work order demand patterns, and purchasing trends
  • C oordinates the supply and delivery of materials and products with other departments
  • Manages inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations
  • Creates reports on usage, demand, and forecasts
  • Prepares cost estimates, performance reports and forecasts

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in business, logistics, inventory management or a related field
  • Statistical and spreadsheet analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel
  • Proven understanding of material flows from order to consumption

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good internal and external relationships

Working conditions

  • Works in an open office setting; not a remote or work from home position
  • Overtime occasionally required

Physical Requirements

  • Work is normally performed in an office setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for 8 or more hours a day
