This is a role for an emerging professional. You have completed at least 3-5 years of professional work experience post-college (or equivalent training) and have grown your technical and soft skills as a marketing and communications professional. You have had increasing responsibilities as it related to content planning, creation, publication, and measurement. The right candidate has a solid understanding of how budgeting resources means accounting for time and finance and is able to manage multiple complex projects and responsibilities simultaneously. You are a strong writer and communicator, but understand the importance of a good editor and listening skills. Doing the work means rolling up your sleeves, digging into the numbers, and going beyond the bare minimum to achieve success.
This role will work closely with senior leadership to support a growing marketing and communications capability focused on advancing the company’s reputation and business development pipeline. This person will be responsible for making all the big ideas and planning happen. This role has a seat at the table for marketing and communications planning alongside other strategists, writers, designers, artists, and editors. However, this is the person who stands up from the table and tackles writing the tasks, chasing the contributing parties, building and keeping timelines chock-full of deadlines. This role will write independently and as a collaborator. This role will be responsible and accountable for publishing flawless work across the agency’s digital channels and continuously monitoring for measurement and reporting purposes.
In parallel, this role will also be responsible for guiding the production pipeline of the agency’s new business efforts, coordinating the tasks and resources required to create proposals or other materials required in pursuit of new client opportunities. This will include guiding multiple projects simultaneously with marketing and communications responsibilities. This aspect of the job means working very closely with leadership and key team members to create content, design assets, timelines, budgets, and other proposal-related materials.
The third aspect of this role will be managing the awards and thought leadership efforts of the company. This includes researching and tracking award opportunities and deadlines relevant to the company and its employees, as well as writing and guiding submissions in a timely manner. The other responsibility will be researching and identifying potential speaking opportunities for members of the team across the offices and relevant markets. This person would then coordinate submission, content preparation, and other resources needed for successful execution.
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Lead or support the management and growth of NJI’s marketing priorities and portfolio
- Effectively manage internal processes and advance projects from start to finish, while coordinating with team members and providing continuous reports
- Effectively communicate — verbal and written — with leadership on digital and creative services strategies, as well as all other marketing or media-oriented projects and tasks
- Leverage data and analytics to develop and present well-informed metrics reports, for both internal and external purposes
- Develop project budgets, scopes, and timelines in support of business development goals
- 3+ years of experience working specifically in marketing and communications with responsibility across a varied portfolio.
- Direct experience managing paid social campaigns on Meta platforms, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant social channels.
- Must be able to work across a number of projects, workflows, and teams to respond to changing needs and deadlines
- A sense of humor and a love of tacos, pandas, and the occasional dog
