Essential Functions

  • Serves as a security subject matter expert on enterprise projects, software and hardware enhancements, and initiatives. Identifies information security risks, provides recommendations, builds and configures solutions, and troubleshoots issues
  • Supports manager in establishing roadmap by reviewing existing tools used, assessing and recommending new tools to use based on research
  • Designs, builds, deploys, and maintains information security systems
  • Troubleshoots and solves complex problems related to information security systems and controls
  • Ensures information security systems align with architectural requirements and strategies
  • Proactively manages security tools/services and vendor life cycle management
  • Ensures purchases and renewals are processed in a timely manner, meets security budgetary goals, and avoids disruptions to security services and projects
  • Performs risk assessments of business processes and system hardware and software acquisitions, configurations, and architectures
  • Manages document life cycle including periodic reviews, updates, and approval cycles

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, information technology, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • Seven years of experience in information technology, including four years of experience in information security, infrastructure engineering, network engineering or related experience
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining information security systems
  • Information Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, AWS, Azure, Security+, CEH, GSEC) preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge of information security standards, concepts, principles, technologies and practices
  • Strong knowledge of information technology including network, servers, cloud, and PKI/cryptography and identity and access management technologies
  • Ability to lead moderate to highly complex technology projects
  • Strong knowledge of productivity software, such as Microsoft Suite and diagramming software
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Strong ability to secure cloud solutions within AWS, Google, and/or Azure cloud platforms
  • Ability to script and automate using Python and CloudFormation preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and across varying levels
  • Strong ability to multitask and organize complexity
  • Excellent documentation skills
