What You’ll Do


We’re looking to hire an Executive Director – Oncology with a genuine passion for leading the Clinical Development and Strategy aspects of a Therapeutic Area CRO team. Our Executive Director – Oncology will be responsible for supporting Business Development in the sales process with Clinical Development/Strategy insights (trial design, common pitfalls in the indication, KOLs to work with, recruitment strategies, etc.) and help Vial’s innovative CRO model be deployed to sponsors. You’ll report to our CEO and work directly with Business Development and Clinical Operations teams.

This role is fully remote, based anywhere in the US. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Business Development in the sales process with Clinical Development/Strategy insights (trial design, common pitfalls in the indication, KOLs to work with, recruitment strategies, etc.).
  • Prepare for General Capabilities presentations including reviewing company development programs, therapeutic market intelligence
  • Speak on behalf of Vial’s CRO capabilities on webinars, at events and in content marketing.
  • Aide in generating new business for the CRO.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with potential sponsor clients in Oncology
  • Anticipate client needs and identify solutions to needs from Vial’s capabilities.
  • Maintain expertise in Oncology by tracking industry news/events/trends, speaking with KOLs, maintaining close industry relationships
  • Assist and support handing off clients to Clinical Operations in order to manage cross-functional post trial award efforts

Who You Are

  • Extensive CRO experience working in Oncology – you are a Subject Matter Expert. Sponsors come to the CRO you work for just for you. You know all of the pitfalls in running trials for all the major indication in Oncology and can speak to how to avoid them.
  • You are known in the Oncology for your pragmatism and ability to get stuff done for sponsors
  • Strong skills in using technology (in order to communicate in real-time communication systems, attend video conferences and create documents/presentations online)
  • Move fast, and manage the multiple simultaneous workstreams common in a startup environment
