We are change leaders within the Operations Strategy & Performance Delivery (OSPD) team driving strategy and process improvement initiatives to achieve organizational goals. The Strategic Transformation Program function within OSPD provides strategic counsel and insight to the head of the business unit and the senior leadership team with an emphasis on developing strategic insights, and recommendations from a ‘look ahead’ perspective.
As the Director of Strategic Research you will perform research and share insights along with analysis & decision support to inspire change and influence the “look forward” strategy across the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) organization. You will also collaborate with business leaders on strategic business messages by supporting them in delivering key business and strategic insights to internal governing committees and business partners.
OSPD leads critical aspects of FFIO strategy and performance delivery & drives strategic objectives that tie to operating plan goals and outcomes. In addition, the team is responsible for key aspects of operational improvements and interacts with each of the domains and shared services functions within FFIO as well as key upstream and downstream business partners.
The OSPD team includes the following sub-teams: Strategic Transformation Programs, Strategy & Planning, Reengineering & Automation, Business Intelligence & Analytics, and Workflow.
The Expertise And Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 2+ yrs. of proven experience in strategy and planning disciplines preferably related to financial services. MBA is desirable.
Prior strategy research and support experience with an established consulting firm or corporate strategy group preferred.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to develop content for executive level presentations and research white papers.
You have developed executable business plans by using your strong conceptual skills tempered by a bottom-line business orientation.
You have demonstrated creativity and tenacity in research and analysis.
You have a proven track record in analytically oriented and project management roles where you provided reporting and analysis to measure progress against objectives as well as informed future decision making.
You can independently synthesize complex information into operational insights and strategic recommendations.
You are organized and deliver results using, where appropriate, project management routines and practices.
You have prior experience developing executive presentations and presenting to senior leaders.
You are self-motivated and can work without a high degree of structure.
You are comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
You will conduct research on industry trends, competitors, customers, regulatory changes, technology changes using a variety of sources in resourceful ways.
You will interact with Fidelity personnel at various levels, gathering data and input.
You will participate in the development of insights and conclusions from analyses.
You will participate in the preparation and delivery of presentations to clients, business partners and senior leaders in the organization.
