The Cmcrl Presales Solutions Engineer – End-User Compute, works in concert with the sales team, while taking a consultative approach to understand the customer’s business and technology needs. This role develops customer-specific solution architectures, based on existing SHI end-user compute offerings and capabilities. These solutions may also contain solutions/components from other SHI practice areas such as Network, Security and Cloud.

Our Cmcr Presales Solutions Engineer – End-User Compute, will report to a Solutions Director or a Solutions Manager. This position is a remote position however may be required to report to the Austin, Tx or other SHI location as required for business needs as determined by SHI management

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Collaborates with account teams in understanding the maturity levels of customer end-user compute environments through review and evaluation of end-user compute technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes
  • Responsible for designing and proposing end-user compute solutions that meet customer’s business and IT objectives
  • Develop and execute end-user compute solutions strategy for assigned customers
  • Learn and understand company end-user compute services offerings and portfolio by self-study, partner training and company sponsored training.
  • Learn and understand the breadth of SHI’s Solutions Practices services offerings and portfolio by self-study, partner training and company sponsored training.
  • Collaborate with multiple layers of contacts within an organization, including but not limited to CIO, CTO, CISO, IT/Security Directors, IT/Security Admin to strengthen our overall customer relationship and better understand the goals and objectives they are trying to achieve
  • Collaborate with sales team to drive the solution including making recommendations and aligning next steps for the sale
  • Develop relationships with Local Technology Community (MFG’s and SI Partners), and the appropriate customer technical personnel to establish market credibility and ensure the sales team understands the customer’s on-going enterprise needs
  • Strengthen SHI’s technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners and key end-user compute partners to increase knowledge and be considered for beta programs to better serve our customers with best current product information
  • Educate and develop sales teams on end-user compute solution selling and key technologies through 1×1 training, team training and company training
  • Conduct product training and positioning for the Sales team and customer
  • Stay current on new technology, trends and market behavior by studying market trend and the industry landscape
  • Maintain vendor accreditations and certifications relevant to the end-user compute Industry
  • Self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase job related knowledge and skills
  • Obtain technical certifications as needed for specific projects as dictated by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within end-user compute landscape
  • Experience with 2 or more of the following:
    • End-user endpoint devices (including desktops/laptops and mobile devices)
    • End-user productivity applications ((including MS Office and Google Workspace)
    • End-user application, operating system and device deployment and management
    • End-user security (including end-point device protection and single sign-on)

Required Skills

  • Ability to design end-user compute infrastructure including:
    • End-user endpoint devices (including desktops/laptops and mobile devices)
    • End-user productivity applications ((including MS Office and Google Workspace)
    • End-user application, operating system and device deployment and management
    • End-user security (including end-point device protection and single sign-on)
  • In-depth understanding of end-user compute architecture best practices and OEM validated architecture designs
  • Ability to identify existing customer end-user compute landscape and make recommendations to improve future architectures or customer experience
  • Ability to architect enterprise-class large scale end-user compute systems
  • Strong sales mindset

Preferred Skills: 

  • Broad technical understanding of the leading end-user compute platforms and purchasing programs

Certifications Required

  • One or more industry certifications related to end-user compute such as TOGAF – preferred
  • One or more manufacturer certification related to end-user compute (For example: Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and VMware) – preferred

Unique Requirements

  • Position requires up to 40% travel to client locations
  • Extended hours are required to complete some special projects

The estimated pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000 – $260,000, which includes a base salary and bonuses. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location, and therefore will vary from individual to individual. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
