Associate Analyst/Analyst, Brokerage Operations Tax Withholding

The Role

The Tax Withholding team is responsible for ensuring accurate withholding has been done in client accounts and remitted to the governments. There are also occasional projects that the role will be assisting or leading. The team works collaboratively, and each responsibility has a backup person to provide the best client experience possible.

  • Reconciliation, remittance, research of withholding amounts.
  • MasterFeeder account setup, maintenance, and review.
  • Supporting the lines of business through XTRAC inquiries and emails.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to find the best solutions for the customer and the firm.

The Expertise And Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Account, Finance or Math (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience 3+ in Financial Services (some Tax would be a bonus)
  • Ability to interpret and communicate IRS regulations
  • Strong analytical skills

The Team

Our team is responsible for helping clients understand why withholding occurs in accounts. The concept can be hard for clients/advisors/brokers to comprehend, and our team helps explain and review to ensure that we did withhold accurately. We are also responsible for daily sending out large amounts of money on behalf of the customers, to government agencies on specific times. Incorrect remittance can result in large fines to the firm, making their accuracy critical. Because of the nature of withholding, we work closely with many different OSG groups as well as the lines of business across the company. We are constantly looking for ways to help our customers without jeopardizing the firm’s reputation.
